i think reveal day at studio calico is becoming one of my favorite days of the month. the anticipation is fun, and then the DT gallery is just full of eye candy and makes you want to just sit down and scrap.

anyway. here are my projects this month.

i would highly suggest that you RUN to get this kit because i seriously could not put it down (as you can see, i kind of went overboard). i would also suggest that you also RUN to that DT gallery because it will just blow you away. seriously.

a shadow world of painted girls and marionettes

yeah yeah, i know, i haven't blogged in over a week.

thanksgiving weekend 2007 went something like this: boba and spicy chicken. "first time," lip syncing, gloves and hilarious expressions.pumpkin cheesecake. turkey, ham, potatoes, stuffing (no chestnut :( ), and wii (which was actually kinda, uh, exhausting). graffiti on a touchpad. "BART BOY!" lots of laughs. portos. portos closed. souplantation. chicken noodle soup. blueberry muffins. compton. incompetent circuit city workers. boys and cars. target. the office. elaine's new camera. manicures. room arrangements and fate. fried chicken, ribs, and cornbread. a 22nd birthday. comedians. strawberry fantasy and pineapple&malibu. "martha stewart day." jo-ann. beads and wire. cupcakes and frosting. christmas cards. chili dog and chili cheese fries.

all this and i only took 30 or so pictures.

i am thankful for a lot of things this year. family. this crazy thing called scrapbooking. my crazy friends. and so much more. the best part of this weekend had to be hanging out with everyone and sharing lots of fun moments together. it was kind of nice to just take part in the festivities and not be clicking away behind the camera, for once.

so in the process, i picked up a new hobby. i blame it on the fact that jo-ann's had their whole beading aisle at 40% off. well that and while everyone else wanted to make christmas cards, i didn't feel like paper crafting. i'm no anilu, but this is fun. (it might also just be a phase. hah)

the buildings shade the masquerade

so i got to hang out with judy today, and we eventually ended up at starbucks. even though it was over 80 degrees outside (crazy so-cal weather), i ordered myself a gingerbread latte - yay!

and then while waiting for our orders, we spotted this really cool paper tree decoration. i thought "this is cute, and i can totally make this with my scrap supplies." i was totally inspired, and we ran off to j's and target to pick up a styrofoam cone, pins, sequins, and a star top.

an hour later, we came up with these:

so, so fun. and these wintery heidi grace papers were perfect for this project.

'twas a fun afternoon. gotta love starbucks sometimes :)

i felt really creative this weekend. it might have been the fact that my studio calico kit showed up this week. more about that later this week. 2 to share -

started making christmas cards this weekend:

every year, i have good intentions of handing out handmade christmas cards to all my friends. every year, i fail. this year, i shall try to succeed. so i started early.

been watching of old episodes of popular and freaks&geeks the last few weeks. both are shows that were on air around the time i started high school. both are awesome. both are so much funnier now that i'm out of high school. both got cancelled after a short time. such a shame.

looking forward to some things that are coming up soon. which include having everyone back home for thanksgiving break (it will include a photo shoot for sure), and a norcal trip in december. yes, again. i'll freeze, but what the heck. and i can't wait for winter break :)

my cool news was this - i was interviewed for this month's inside the scrapper's playhouse feature by the lovely (and super talented!) tracie radtke on disc talk radio.

i do admit that i sound like a 12-year-old and giggle waaaay too much, but it was fun :)
