my love is a lifetaker

this post is a photo catch-up of sorts :) not that i've been taking very many lately - i need to work on that (maybe a photo-a-day again starting next month?) - but since i've finally sat down to sort and edit photos, here's what's been going on...




a couple of weeks ago, i had to be in the presidio in the evening. the golden gate bridge was on the way anyway, and it was around sunset time on one of those perfect san francisco days. so i took the detour to snap a couple of photos.





i think i mentioned that i took a super quick LA trip a couple weekends ago. it was for kylie's birthday party. it was nice seeing a bunch of family again, and she was adorable! i can't believe she's 4 already. all of them are growing up sooooo fast. that must mean i'm getting old. hah.


while i was there, i got to squeeze in a quick boba/tea station outing with the girls. i really like this photo for some reason...looks warm.


and amy even brought me sprinkles!! yay :)

i leave you with some of my KI layouts. i finally played with a bunch of the new paper! (the box has been sitting here for 2 months, but for some reason i kept using older stuff, lol)

as the days keep turning into night

right now...

* really loving the weather here this month. well, except for those two days when it POURED. i haven't seen this many sunny days here in a loooong while...and there's definitely that crispy fall air. love it.

* i've started cooking with my crockpot quite often. seriously makes my life easier. if it weren't for that thing, i probably would be eating ramen every day, lol. i've been experimenting with different things...more about this in a future post :)

* i'm LOVING the away we go soundtrack. especially the alexi murdoch songs (the post title is from one of the songs). love love love. the boy and i saw the movie a couple weeks ago, and i liked it, but the entire time i thought "i HAVE to get this soundtrack."

* i don't think i'll be watching this year's world series. it's bad enough that the dodgers didn't make it, but the yankees vs. phillies? *yaaaaawn*

* i can't believe it'll be november in less than a week. yikes. where is time going?

* i'm sore. i assisted a wedding yesterday. it was fun, exhausting, and super inspiring. i get to work with one of the most awesome wedding photographers in the bay area, and it was pretty awesome to watch him do his thing. it was definitely a learning experience, for sure. he also let me take my own shots when i wasn't helping with lighting, so i'll share those later. so excited for this opportunity - i cannot wait to do more and to learn more!

but seriously, christmas is right around the corner, isn't it? if you're like me, you wait til the veeeeery last minute to send out your christmas cards. and every year, you vow to be different.


well, two peas has a new class series to help people like you and me - easy to create holiday cards! each monday from now til nov. 5, one of the garden girls (me, erica hernandez, kandis smith, and nichol magourik) will provide a sketch and 3 cards created from it!

i loooooove LA (sort of).

these pictures make me very, very happy:




them dodgers clinched a playoff spot about 2 weeks ago, then made me wait an entire week to watch them clinch the division. and yesterday, they won another NLDS and are headed to the NLCS.

i think they're going to be taking it all this year :) (and i think it would be cool if there was a freeway world series with the angels).

i looooooove LA. well. when the dodgers win, lol.

speaking of LA - i'm there right now. decided to take a very quick, very impromptu trip. got in late last night, leaving tomorrow morning. more on that later :)
